Lucy Liu (born Lucy Liu) is an American voice actor director producer, and vocalist. An attractive, clever and talented actor, she's an model for Asian actors who want to be big stars in Hollywood. After a series of initial appearances in some popular series she gained fame when she joined the team of the legal comedy series Ally McBeal where she played the malicious Ling Woo. The fame she gained from the show was translated into films roles like Shanghai Noon or Charlie's Angels. Then she gave a stunning performance as Japanese criminal O-Ren Ishii In Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. Around this same time, she also starred in box office failures, including Rise: Blood Hunter. For animated films such as Kung Fu Panda, Tinker Bell and many others, she voiced prominent characters. Mia Mason's role on Cashmere Mafia, a small screen film, failed to produce results. Southland's critically acclaimed police series, Southland and a recurring performance helped Liu to reestablish herself the status of an established actor. Liu chooses her roles with care so that she doesn't become a typecast character in such a competitive field. Though she's proud of her heritage but she doesn't let the fact that she is from China limit her creative abilities.
